Birch is easy to work with: joints have a good hold and resist mechanical stress well. This material is used for carpentry work, to make handles, brushes and for carved and turned work. It is also possible to obtain veneers and plywood that are valuable for their lightness. The most valuable and appreciated ones come from burls.
