This wood is easy to nail, screw and glue. Thanks to its good durability it is used for naval furnishings as well as in joinery. This material is also used to make floorboards and as a decorative veneer to replace mahogany, which it vaguely resembles. In its fresh state, it has a pleasant cedar-like scent, which disappears with time.
