The working of Ipe is not always easy and may require the use of special tools. Also nailing is not easy, so preliminary drilling is necessary.  Excellent smooth surfaces can be obtained by planing and sanding this wood, as well as excellent finishes. It is used for the realization of various objects, sports equipment, and scientific instruments, for shipbuilding, and furniture in general.
